William
A. Suiter was born September 29th, 1861 in Le Claire, Iowa
(Scott County). William married Laura Blair July 23, 1887. Uncle
Dean told me that he thinks Laura died in childbirth in Kansas.
They had three children; Lawrence Blair Suiter, Willie Augusta
Suiter and Ethel Beatrice Suiter. Granny's mother is Ethel. Here
middle name is named after the town her aunt Agnes
Suiter Freeman (Williams sister) lived in, Beatrice, Nebraska.
William lost both legs to a train when he was hit by a train in
either Sigourney or Buffalo, Iowa and lived a few days until passing
away. Ethel Beatrice Suiter was Born September 25, 1891 in LeClaire,
Iowa in a home house on Canal Shore Drive that Bill Suiter had
owned that is no longer there. This land is now by the Dry Stack
boat dock and sits empty. She married Ira Ross Roller Le Claire,
IA, January 1, 1908. Their children were; Irene F. Roller, Harriet
Roller, Ira Ross Roller Jr., Elsie B. Roller, Mosselene Roller,
Ruth L. Roller, Virginia Roller, Ethel Roller, William Dean Roller.
Ethel Suiter Roller died January 15, 1977. Our granny was Ruth
L. Roller. She was born in June, 1915. She married George Gimm
in 1933 in Dubuque, IA. They had the following children; George
James Jr., Ruth, Robert, Nancy, Michael, William, Patrick, Thomas.
She died October 1987 in Le Claire, IA. My mom is Ruth Loretta
Gimm and she was born June 6, 1936 she married James Patrick Rossmiller
in June 1956.
